Luckily an XK-150 in our restoration shop yielded some still-living samples and we've had the buffers reproduced (available separately under part number CO-8370.) But in most cases, the studs and hardware supporting the tank are rusted beyond re-use, so we've assembled a complete XK-140 and XK-150 fuel tank mount kit. Twenty-two pieces in all, it includes the aforementioned rubber buffers, plus the front and rear mount studs and correct washers and nuts. Jaguar Specialty Hardware
Eventually, hardware is just plain worn out! Each nut, screw and bolt has only so many tightening cycles. The bolt-heads round over, the slots in screws wear out, and the threads roll over and strip. We have gathered a few of the specialty fasteners found on a lot of Jaguars. Stop "making due" with old hardware and replace with all new.

This braided, flexible line assembly replaces the standard solid line that is not currently available and prone to fatigue cracks. The Battery MINDer

Jaguar's independent rear suspension system was an excellent design, but its complexity makes ordering rebuild parts a bit tedious. Our new inner and outer fulcrum rebuild kits, however, give you everything you'll need under just two part numbers. The "early" inner kit fits all 3.8 E-Types with 1.75" bearing tubes (up to OTS 879131 and FHC 888326); the "late" inner kit fits all E-Types thereafter plus Series I, II and III XJ-6/XJ-12 and all XJ-S. The outer kit fits all E-Types, Series I, II and III XJ-6/XJ-12 and XJ-S with inboard rear brakes. One kit required for each side. Kits include all normally required bearings, seals, spacers and shims.

ZF has been the OE transmission supplier to Jaguar (and many other brands) since the late eighties and supplies the CVT automatic transmission as used in the current MINI. We're seeing a steady stream of V-8 cars in our shop these days, and leaking cam cover gaskets is a fairly common problem. In the worst cases, oil will leak past the spark plug seals and cause a misfire, so this is excellent preventive maintenance easily handled by most owners. "First Type" cars have one-piece "siamesed" spark plug seals (one piece seals two plugs) and cover XJ8 and XK8 up to engine 9810290000; "second type" applications have separate seals for each spark plug and are from engine 9810190001. NEW Norman Dewis of Jaguar – Developing the Legend, by Paul Skilleter with Norman Dewis
“Legendary” is a description that has long been applied to Norman Dewis, famed in Jaguar circles for his 33-year career as the company’s chief development test driver. Between 1952 and 1985, Norman had many adventures - not the least accompanying Stirling Moss on the 1952 Mille Miglia in a C-type, achieving 172mph in an XK 120 in Belgium in 1953, dashing to Geneva with the brand new E-type in 1961, and his spectacular 130mph crash in the XJ13 prototype ten years later!

In all, Norman carried out the development testing of 25 different Jaguars, so this book provides a unique, behind-the-scenes account of how cars such as the Mk VII, XK 120, XK 140, XK 150, ‘Mk 1’, Mk 2, E-type, Mk X and XJ6 were developed. Jaguar’s race cars also fell into Norman’s domain, and he spent thousands of hours at over 100mph in the C- and D-types which went on to win Le Mans. He himself competed in the dramatic 1955 event. Norman was also Jaguar’s key man in the development of the first practical disc brake – something we take for granted these days, but which was very new in the early 1950s. Augmenting Norman’s vivid personal accounts is much technical material drawn from his extensive vehicle proving files, plus nearly 1,000 photographs and illustrations, many in color. This large format, hardbound book runs to 576 pages and is beautifully designed and produced. It is written by Paul Skilleter who has known Norman for over 40 years.
